We're excited to have our Norton Kelly-Boxall as our Inventor-In-Residence at the Hub for the week of 25th November. Norton is one of Australia's leading robotics engineers and he'll be here to run workshops, give advice, collaborate and advise members of our maker/hacker/engineering/inventor/robotics community.

About Norton

Engineer, Roboticist & Inventor

Norton is co-founder of LYRO Robotics, an industrial robotics startup. Lyro are creating the brain, the eyes, and the hands for the next generation of robots building on research the team developed in the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision (ACRV). It was spun out after Team ACRV won the 2017 Amazon Robotics Challenge.

Norton is a mechanical engineer with expertise in industrial research and development, manufacturing, industrialisation, purchasing, testing and quality assurance.

He has worked in the area of robotic grasping and manipulation for the last years leading the mechanical team for the Amazon Robotics Challenge winning robot ‘Cartman’ and creating the end-effector and various other design-related hardware on the robot.

Norton was also Robotics Engineer for the Cancer and Ageing Research Program (CARP).
